FLORIDA FLIGHT HISTORY & SUCCESS

Welcome to the Florida Flight History & Success page. The story of the Flight is unique. Almost all successful sports teams have large financial backers with very deep pockets, oftentimes in the millions. That was not the case for the Flight.

Approaching season 8, the Florida Flight is one of the most tenured minor league basketball teams in the United States. It's also one of very few teams to successfully utilize a grassroots approach towards establishing a successful team both on and off the court. Operated with a Christian World view and centered by the mission statement, which is to "Utilize the platform of professional basketball to invest in the lives of others, the Flight has succeeded in consistently taking progressive steps forward despite being launched in one of the worst economic recessions in the past few decades.

Most of the success of the Flight is the result of valuing the opportunity to invest in people. From helping players to grow and develop their basketball careers, providing a high quality platform for talented basketball players to continue playing after college, giving sports enthusiasts seeking to work in the sports and entertainment field an opportunity to gain quality professional basketball experience, creating a place for referees to garner experience refereeing at the professional level, to the countless community outreach that encourages and inspires others to pursue excellence and to take their dreams seriously, the Flight has proven it is more than just an affordable, family-friendly professional basketball team.

13 players have gone on from the Flight to experience basketball at the international level.

If you are familiar with the Florida Flight, you know our mission statement:
UTILIZE THE PLATFORM OF PROFESSIONAL BASKETBALL TO INVEST IN THE LIVES OF OTHERS!
