This program is designed to encourage students to acknowledge their dreams, consider their passions, expand their vision, and pursue those ambitions with no fear!

The Florida Flight has partnered with Friday Night Life, Avalon Sweets, Avalon Park YMCA, Briantos, The Pottery Pad, and Paladin Tech and Games to present:

THE NOT AFRAID TO FLY ESSAY CONTEST

Students are challenged to write a short 1-page essay articulating their dreams and aspirations titled Not Afraid to Fly! In the essay, students are encouraged to share thier ambitions, why they have the dream that they have, how they hope to accomplish those dreams, and how other around them can help make that dream a reality.

Several local businesses in the Avalon Park Community have partnered with the Flight to present a GRAND PRIZE for the top essay submitted.

This GRAND PRIZE INCLUDES:

An Avalon Park All-Y Family Membership (valued at $600.00)

$100.00 cash prize presented by Avalon Sweets

A Surprise gaming pack from Paladin Game & Tech (valued at $50.00)

$10 Gift Certificate at Briantos

$10 Gift Certificate at The Pottery Pad

In addition, the Florida Flight has set aside a season ticket for the first 200 students who submit an essay for the contest. All you have to do is submit an essay!

Further, this program was developed with an intent to mentor students, who are the future of our world. We are going to work earnestly to connect these kids with community mentors to help them obtain practical experience and advice from someone within their respective fields of interest.
