2nd ANNUAL FLORIDA FLIGHT SCHOOL SCOUT LEAGUE PREPARING FOR LIFT-OFF

(Orlando, FL) – The Florida Flight has officially announced plans to host their upcoming Flight School Scout League, set to launch in mid-October at River Run Christian Church.
The Flight School Scout League is the format the Flight coaching staff utilizes to assess talent and recruit prospective local talent desiring a position on the upcoming 2012 Florida Flight player roster.
“Other minor league teams utilize one-day tryouts to assess talent,” said Flight Head Coach Mark King. “I don’t believe you can legitimately assess players properly in a one day setting, so we decided to use a league structure instead.”
Last season, seven players earned a spot on the 2011 player roster by playing in the Scout League. Three players, Herbert “Chip” Polite, Jonathan Adamson, Kamar Russell, consistently found themselves in the starting lineup throughout the season.
“We are sincerely a franchise of opportunity,” said Rabon Smith, Flight General Manager. “We believe in our ability to develop players. Using a league format helps us discover which players are serious about their basketball careers, and which players are full of hot air.”
The league is slated to launch on Thursday, October 20th, and will include a 7 game season plus a championship game. The cost is $100 per player, or $750 for pre-formed teams.
